I'd like to speak on this ICEBUDDY podcast, to philanthropists, faith groups, non-profit groups, and all humanitarian organizations that are working with refugees and support the need for new multifunctional equipment to enhance their arsenal and improve their ability to serve.

My years spent as a first responder led me to create a product that would meet the need of refugees. Their immediate need to survive requires access to water, food, and medication, especially medication requiring refrigeration. I have witnessed how the equipment currently available to first responders and international groups, helping refugees is outdated and limited in its functionality. That is why I created the ICEBUDDY System. This system has two components that can be used separately or together to meet those needs. The QOOLER, uniquely preserves medications requiring refrigeration without the need for ice, gel packs, solar or electricity. People show up at shelters or traveling great distances with medication, like insulin, requiring refrigeration with no way to keep it cold. The QOOLER solves that problem by maintaining an internal temperature of 36 to 46 degrees for three days. Once they arrive at a refugee center, the QOOLER can repeatedly be reactivated for unlimited additional 72 hour periods by sitting it on a bag of ice. The QOOLER is also the only product available of its type that is Kosher and Halal certified. It provides a food grade dish to allow international refugees of all religious backgrounds to receive whatever rations are available. The core of the QOOLER is also holding supplies keeping them at the proper temperature. QOOLERs can be transported by drones to reach difficult to access locations. This enables medicine and supplies to reach those in need buying time while responders traverse difficult terrain. Reaching those in need in a timely manner often means the difference between life and death. The QPACK is a redesigned reimagined backpack that meets military specifications. It is uniquely designed to be worn as a backpack yet fits on wheelchairs and walkers. This allows the elderly and physically challenged to be self-sufficient. Again, there is no product on the market, specifically designed for this population. There are never enough responders to assist everyone. To the extent individuals can be self-sufficient the odds of them surviving are increased. The QPACK uniquely holds a dozen 16 a nd a half ounce bottle, 10 pounds of ice, or 120 ounces of liquid. This is important because no other backpack is capable of transporting all three. When there is a disaster, government agencies distribute any of the three aforementioned resources. The QPACK allows citizens to receive whatever aid is available. The QPACK has an accessory bag for change of clothing, food supplies, or other personal items. A zipper compartment protects valuables and important documents. It's expandable top is large enough to contain the QOOLER or additional supplies as needed. The QPACK is designed to be airlifted and dropped on pallets in large quantities. When the ICEBUDDY System is filled with water, food, and medicine, this one product is capable of Saving Lives.
